Washington 52 Colorado 24 – Game Recap
Washington remained undefeated in Pac 12 play (3-0 Pac 12 6-1 overall) with a convincing 52-24 home win on Saturday afternoon. Here are 5 reasons why the Huskies had no problems with the Buffaloes.

1. Colorado had no answer for the Washington offense – In the win the Huskies racked up 562 yards of total offense and they used a well-balanced attack with 267 passing yards and 295 rushing yards. 7 different Washington players scored and the Buffaloes simply could not keep up with the UW offensive attack.
2. Washington’s Big Guns came through – big time–
The Huskies Got to raise their helmets a lot on Saturday
in the Colorado win. Price was 21/28 for 257 yards and threw 4 TD passes in the first half and was not picked off in the game. He spread the ball around, as 4 different Huskies’ players caught his TD passes.
Polk rushed for 117 yards on 18 carries and he averaged a legit 6.5 yards per carry. In the game Polk rushed for over 100 yards for the 16th time in a Huskies uniform and that is one game behind the school record set by RB Napoleon Kaufman.
3. Washington was solid on 3rd down– In the game the Huskies were 8/10 on 3rd down conversions and those pickups were crucial in keeping drives alive.
4. Washington played great run defense – In the game the Huskies only gave up 62 rushing yards and most of that was on a 38-yard run from Tony Jones.
RB Rodney Stewart left the game because of an injury in the 3rd quarter and the Huskies played great D the rest of the day on Jones, who only averaged 3.5 yards per carry, but it was really much less than that, as he failed to find room to run after his 38-yard gallop.
5. Washington’s pass defense did not kill them – Washington’s pass defense has been their Achilles Heel, ranked 116th in the nation coming into the game, but they stepped up in the win over Colorado.
The Huskies kept Buffalos’ QB Tyler Hansen to only18 of 30 for 155 yards in the game and after he led the Buffalos to an opening drive TD Colorado did not score another TD until the 3rd quarter when they were down 21 points.
Coming into the game the Buffalos had the nation’s 43rd ranked passing offense.
Next Up: The Huskies have won 3 straight games and are playing with a ton of confidence, but next week they have a stiff test, which is a major understatement, facing Andrew Luck and 7th ranked Stanford on the road.
